In our cyclical economy there has been one constant positive—the housing market. Congress and the Administration are routinely focused on issues such as housing finance, regulation of the government sponsored enterprises, adjustments to the Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (in order to keep pace with innovations in the marketplace), ongoing federal funding of programs to house the elderly, poor and the disabled, and the synergies that occur where federal, state and local housing initiatives intersect. BGR has the experience and expertise to help our clients navigate the complex legislative and regulatory issues that are often driven by a myriad of players including financial institutions, consumer groups, associations and government entities at all levels. Our principals have served in leadership positions at the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the relevant committees in Congress where decisions are made on a regular basis that affect housing finance and housing policy.
