Our team helps clients navigate the complex business, government, think tank, media, and public policy environment in Washington and helps American and international clients develop and execute strategies for success in key foreign markets. We advocate directly to the U.S. government, develop strategies to influence policymakers in Washington through thought leaders, draw attention to policy issues through media outreach, monitor and analyze foreign policy developments, and help C-suites develop and execute successful international strategies.

Our success in international politics and business stems from our longstanding relationships with key government and business decisionmakers in Washington and in capitals around the world, augmented by our understanding of the complexities – political, economic, security, cultural, and historical – that shape their decisions.

BGR helps clients understand and engage with the U.S. government, including Congress; the Departments of State, Defense, Treasury, and Commerce; the U.S. Development Finance Corporation and Export-Import Bank; and state and local government leaders and agencies.

We design and execute  government relations strategies and represent our clients’ interests in Washington, with targeted and coordinated outreach to U.S. government agencies, Capitol Hill, thought leaders, and businesses. We advise clients on the implications of foreign policy and Washington decision-making. In addition to creating and executing both targeted and nationwide public relations campaigns, we liaise with multilateral organizations and think tanks, and we advise and executive strategies on potential business transactions.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][iron_button text=”Contact Us” href=”https://bgrdc.com/contact/”][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1024″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” css=”.vc_custom_1670883149720{padding-top: 2rem !important;padding-bottom: 3rem !important;background-color: #eaeaea !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Among our international lobbying practice offerings are:

  • Lobbying and Government Relations: BGR works with clients to develop multi-tiered lobbying and public relations strategies to ensure support on Capitol Hill and in the Administration on their areas of concern.
  • Strategic Advice: BGR’s experts can address unique, complex transnational business or political challenges that involve multiple countries or jurisdictions and require multiple fields of professional expertise to achieve the best results.
  • Litigation and Due Diligence Support: BGR frequently partners with U.S. and foreign law firms on behalf of our clients, enhancing a legal strategy that requires expanded outreach to governments, investigative support, and public relations or media management efforts.
  • Sanctions: BGR helps clients understand and address U.S. regulatory and sanctions issues under the authority of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security and its Entity List, and the State Department’s human rights and non-proliferation sanctions. BGR also has deep institutional knowledge on issues appearing before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
  • Foreign Assistance Issues: Our former State and USAID officials provide clients in the nonprofit and international affairs communities with unique knowledge, skills, and information necessary to advance their goals for broader assistance funding.
  • Individual Support: BGR can help individual clients navigate complicated government processes, including visa applications and Senate confirmations.

  • Foreign Governments: BGR has served foreign governments via global lobbying. Past and current clients include Ukraine, India, Bangladesh, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Poland, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Somalia, Guyana, Honduras, Panama, and the Kurds in Northern Iraq. In some cases, we work for the foreign government’s embassy in Washington; in others, we work for political leaders or parties in capitals. In all instances, we design strategies and represent our foreign client’s interests in Washington, including with government, think tank, and business communities. Most often, our government relations work on behalf of foreign governments includes a public relations program.
  • Companies:  As a worldwide lobbying firm, BGR represents companies, including past and current major multinational companies like Samsung, Qualcomm, Microsoft, Raytheon, and Verizon as well as smaller foreign companies with interests in Washington. Typically, this representation is focused on outreach to the U.S. government, both in Washington and to state and local governments. We also help U.S. and foreign corporate clients develop and execute strategies for successfully concluding transactions overseas. Substantively, this work includes advocating on potential U.S. and foreign legislation, support for pending transactions, and other advocacy with the executive and legislative branches of the U.S. government.
  • Individuals: BGR often works with business leaders who have a need to address specific business interests or reputational challenges in the United States and abroad. With these individuals, we channel complex international bipartisan lobbying, government relations, and business advisory strategies to enhance their profile in a manner that enables them to identify and secure new business opportunities.
